Changing the cover photo on your itinerary

The cover photo is the main image clients see on an itinerary. You can replace it with your own image or choose one from Unsplash. If your trip has more than one itinerary option, each option has its own cover photo.

How to change the cover photo

  1. Open the trip and go to the Itinerary tab.

  2. Find the itinerary option name, which is the option title rather than the main trip name at the top.

  3. Click the three dots next to the option name and select "Edit Itinerary."

  4. In the window that opens, upload your own photo or search Unsplash for a new image. To replace an existing image, select "Remove Photo" first.

  5. Click "Update Itinerary" to save.

The new photo appears in the client preview for that option right away. If your trip has multiple options, repeat these steps for each option you want to update.

Using a branded cover photo across itineraries

To apply your own branded image, go to Business Settings and open the Branding section, then upload your image there. This branded image appears on client itineraries and forms.

Recommended image specifications:

  • Size: 384 by 192 pixels

  • Aspect ratio: 2:1, for example 400 by 200 or 600 by 300

Why the cover photo may not appear

If your trip has two or more itinerary options, the cover photo does not show on the selection or overview page. It appears only after the client opens a specific option. This is expected behavior, not an error. If your cover photo is not showing, check whether the trip has more than one option, since that is the most common reason.

Multiple options and the default photo

When a trip has several options, the overview statement and photo are pulled from the first option that was created. Renaming that option later does not change this, because Tern still recognizes it as the original option. Greater flexibility in choosing which overview and photo display for multi-option trips is an area the team is continuing to improve.
