TPI Associate Advisors: Getting Set Up in Tern

When TPI associate advisors get their invite, how to accept it, and what to expect.

Written by Ken Ducusin

For associate advisors on a TPI Main Advisor's team.

When will I get my invite?

Your Main Advisor sets up your agency in Tern first. Once that's done, your invite is sent. If you haven't received one yet, check with your Main Advisor on the status of their agency setup.

Will this cost me anything?

Your access is covered through TPI. For any questions about fees, contact TPI at [email protected].

How do I accept my invite?

  • If you don't have a Tern account yet: open the invite email and click "Accept Invitation," then follow the steps to create your account.

  • If you already have a Tern account: log in and go to Settings → Agency Details. A banner at the top lets you accept the invitation.

If you already had your own Tern subscription, it's cancelled automatically when you accept, and a prorated refund for unused time is applied automatically.

How does my team use Tern?

Every team approaches this a little differently. Your Main Advisor has the full picture of how Tern fits into your team's workflow, so start there. For your own setup, see How TPI Advisors Can Get Started with Tern.

Can I use the one-way sync?

Yes. Associates can book in Tern under the TPI accreditation, and those bookings sync to TPISuitcase. See FAQ: Tern to TPISuitcase Integration.
