Tern automatically syncs booking and commission data on a regular schedule to keep your reporting up to date. This article outlines how frequently your data refreshes, which updates appear right away, and what changes may take a few minutes to reflect.
How Often Does Tern Sync Reporting Data?
We refresh your reporting data frequently, but during peak hours, this can take longer, typically 45-60 minutes. This automated sync ensures that changes made across your agency, like new bookings, payments, or ownership updates, are pulled into your dashboards with minimal delay.
What Updates Are Reflected Immediately?
Some updates are processed instantly and will be visible in your reporting without waiting for the next sync. These include:
Changes to the amount or date on an existing commission payment
If you're updating a commission that has already been logged, those edits will be reflected right away.
What Updates May Be Delayed?
Other updates depend on the scheduled sync cycle and may take 45–60 minutes to appear in your reports:
Adding a new commission payment to a booking
Changing the owner or agency assignment of a booking
These changes will be included in the next data refresh.
What Should I Do If I Don't See a Recent Change?
If you've made an update and don't see it in your reporting right away:
Wait 45–60 minutes to allow the sync to complete.
Refresh your page or dashboard view.
Confirm that the change was saved successfully in the system.
If it still doesn't appear after 60 minutes:
Check who owns the booking. If an agency admin or another advisor created the booking and later assigned the trip to you, the booking may still be attributed to them in reports. Open the activity, look for the booking owner field at the top, and change it to your name. The change will appear in your reports after the next data sync.
If totals seem too high or too low: Check for duplicate commission entries. Go to Commission → Bookings and look for bookings with the same confirmation number under different supplier names (e.g., "Expedia TAAP" vs. "Expedia TAAP Canada"). Duplicate entries will double-count in your reports. Delete the incorrect entry to fix the total.
