Pricing, Commission & Visibility (Platform View)

  1. Is insurance priced the same through Tern as it is through the Arch portal? Does Tern apply any markup or platform fees on this insurance integration?

    1. Insurance product pricing remains the same on Tern as it does when sourced directly from the supplier. There is no additional markup or fees.

  2. Will my insurance commission appear automatically in Tern? Where can I see insurance commission and policy details in Tern?

    1. There is no change to how commission is displayed as a result of this integration and Tern is not involved in the commission flow in any way. You/your agency will be paid commission by the insurance provider as if you had booked it directly with the partner. This integration does not change that relationship in any way.

Quoting & Client Experience

  1. Can I choose which insurance plans are shown to clients?

    1. Yes! You can remove insurance plans via the Insurance tab using the Delete Insurance option within the three dot menu.

  2. Do clients complete the insurance purchase themselves with their own credit card?

    1. Yes, the insurance purchase will use the clients authorization to process the payment and create the booking directly with Arch RoamRight.

Trip Cost, Deposits & Adjustments

  1. How does Tern calculate the trip cost used for an insurance quote, and can it be adjusted? Can I insure only the deposit and increase coverage later? What happens in Tern if the trip cost changes after insurance is purchased?

    1. Tern calculates the trip cost using any trip activities and packages. The trip cost can’t currently be adjusted but we are working on support for this soon. If the trip cost changes after insurance is purchased you can make modifications to the policy directly with Arch RoamRight and then Refresh the insurance in Tern to see the latest details.

Multiple Travelers & Structure

  1. Can insurance be quoted per traveler or household within the same trip? Can a single trip include multiple insurance policies?

    1. For now, Tern only supports one insurance transaction per trip. Multiple orders will need to be on separate trips for now. We will be reviewing feedback here and plan to support having multiple transactions for insurance quotes on the same trip is on our roadmap.

    2. If one person is purchasing policies for multiple travelers that live in different states we will default to the state of the primary traveler for all travelers. Each traveler will get their own policy.

Updates, Reporting & Support

  1. Do insurance changes automatically sync back to the trip record?

    1. No, you will need to Refresh the insurance to see the changes to insurance.

  2. Where can I watch a demo of this integration?

Error Getting Quotes

  • Verify all travelers have complete address information (including state and country)

  • Ensure trip costs and dates are accurately entered

  • Check that your ArchRoamRight integration is connected (not pending)

  • Try refreshing quotes after making any trip updates

Client Cannot Access Insurance

  • Confirm the client is using the exact email address associated with a full-access traveler

  • Verify the email has been added to a traveler on the trip

  • Check that the verification email was received (may go to spam)

Integration Status Issues

  • If your integration shows "Pending," try refreshing the connection

  • Verify your Agency Code and Agent ID are correct

  • Contact support if it continues to show as pending after 1-2 business days
