Overview
Global search lets you search across the trips and contacts you own, plus trips and contacts shared with you when the "Include shared items" toggle is on.
Trips via:
Confirmation #s (activity package, insurance quote, insurance confirmation, booking confirmation)

In the top bar (on every page within Tern) on the right side lives a search bar.
Clicking on this opens a full page search modal.
When you type a search, Tern will be search that word across all of your Trip and Contacts to try to find a relevant Match!
Searching items shared with you
By default, global search looks through the trips and contacts you own. To also search trips and contacts that others have shared with you, turn on the "Include shared items" toggle in the search window. Tern remembers this setting for the next time you search.
When a result is shared with you rather than owned by you, an owner chip appears on that result showing whose it is. The chip displays the owner's first name with their avatar. Hover over it to see the owner's full name. The owner chip appears on both trip and contact results, and only on results you don't own.
Note: The owner chip is separate from the traveler chip. The owner chip shows who owns the trip or contact. The traveler chip (on trip results) links to the trip's primary traveler.
Trip Match
If the typed search matches any of your Tern trips, it will populate under the Trips header

Click to the trip name to be taken to the corresponding trip.
Click the Traveler chip next to the trip title to be taken to that contact.
When your search matches a confirmation number of an item within a trip, this chip then shows.
Contact Match
If the typed search matches any of the following in your contacts, it will populate under the Contacts header

Name (Preferred Name, First name, last name)
Phone
Email
Click the contact to be taken to that person's contact page
Recent Searches
After a search has been entered, you will then see it the next time search is clicked under "Recent Searches".
Other Navigation Notes
To exit the search view, click anywhere outside the white search box OR click the X in the top right
2. To clear the search, either delete your entered text or click the 'clear' button to the left of the X.
3. ⌘ K is a key command which turns on the full screen search. Press ⌘ K again to exit. If using a PC, press Ctrl K.
