The Hotel Library lets you search every property in Tern, see where it's located, and pull in content you've already saved.
What It Does
The Hotel Library brings hotel search right into your itinerary. You can find hotels near a neighborhood or landmark, see which ones you already have templates for, and add them to a trip in a few clicks.
The Hotel Library is available to all advisors.
Key Terms
Template: Hotel content you've saved to your library, or content your agency has shared with you. If you save a Hotels by Tern hotel as a template, the booking contact and voucher aren't saved with it.
Tern content: The default property content Tern provides for every hotel.
Content source: Where a hotel's content comes from when you add it to a trip. This is your template, an agency template, or Tern content.
How to Find and Add a Hotel
Open your trip and go to the itinerary.
Drag the Hotel Library from the right side panel onto a day. If the day already has a location, the search is pre-filled with that location. If not, enter one.
Search by location, neighborhood, or landmark. For example, enter "Empire State Building." Results show each hotel's distance from that landmark.
Narrow your results with filters: hotels in your library, hotels in your agency's library, brand, star rating, amenities. Hotels you've booked before are marked in the results.
Click a hotel to view its details.
Choose the content source. If you have a template for this hotel, your template is used by default. If you don't, your agency's template is used. If neither exists, Tern content is used. To change it, select a different source from the hotel details.
Click Add to Trip.
Edit the booking and pricing details. Once the hotel is on your trip, fill in the booking and pricing details to get it ready for client authorization.
You'll Know It Worked When
The hotel appears on the day you selected, with your chosen content and editable booking and pricing details.
Common Issues
The location isn't pre-filled. The search only pre-fills when the day already has a location. Enter a location, neighborhood, or landmark in the search field.
The wrong content shows up on the hotel. Open the hotel details and change the content source to your template, your agency's template, or Tern content.
A hotel shows in the Hotel Library but has no live rates. Not every hotel can be booked through Hotels by Tern yet. Book it manually, and tell us in chat which hotel.
