Summary:

  • Drag an option element to the top of the first day: A view will appear once you've let go of the block.

  • Give the option block a name: This will be visible to your clients. We suggest names like "Rome Hotel Options".

  • Go back to the itinerary: Click the back to itinerary breadcrumb near the top of the page.

  • Drag a lodging element into the option block: Drag a lodging element into the option block releasing it when it's in the frame of the option block.

  • Search for the "St Regis Rome": in the property field to find the hotel.

  • Repeat the process: Go back to the itinerary and drag another hotel onto the option block. This time search for the Rome Cavalieri

This feature can also be used for activities, cruise cabins, or any other elements where you want to offer options.

1. Adding an Option Block

  1. Access the Itinerary:

    • Go to the itinerary tab for the specific trip.

  2. Drag and Drop Option Block:

    • On the right-hand side, find the "Options" component.

    • Drag the "Options" component to the desired date (e.g., June 5th) and drop it there.

  3. Name the Option Block:

    • A window will pop up asking for a name. Enter a name such as "Rome Hotel Options."

    • Optionally, add a description with personalized recommendations or leave it blank.

2. Adding Hotel Choices to the Option Block

  1. Add a Lodging Item:

    • Drag a lodging component from the right-hand side into the option block.

    • This will open the lodging form.

  2. Search for Hotels:

    • Under the "Property" tab, start typing the name of the hotel (e.g., "St. Regis Rome").

    • Select the hotel from the list. Tern will populate the lodging description and media.

    • Review the details to ensure accuracy. Flag any issues to the Tern team.

  3. Set Details:

    • Indicate check-in and check-out dates.

    • Define pricing details and room options as needed.

  4. Repeat for Additional Hotels:

    • Repeat the process to add another hotel (e.g., "Rome Cavalieri").

    • Drag another lodging component into the option block, search for the hotel, and fill in the details.

3. Previewing the Itinerary with Option Blocks

  1. Access the Full Itinerary:

    • Go back to the full itinerary view.

  2. Preview:

    • Click on the "Preview" button at the top right to see how the itinerary looks.

    • The preview will show the overview and the option block with the hotel choices.

    • Your clients can interact with the option block and make their selections directly within Tern.

4. Benefits of Option Blocks

  1. Flexibility:

    • Use option blocks for presenting various choices, such as room options, cabin options, or activity options.

  2. Client Interaction:

    • Clients can select their preferences directly in Tern, reducing the need for back-and-forth communication via email.
