How can I delete my current account so that I may create a new account under my host agency

To join an agency you do not need to delete your personal account. To join an existing agency follow these steps:

If you're being invited to an existing agency

  • If they haven't already, ask your agency to invite you to join them.

  • You should get an email to join their agency, accept the invite by clicking the link in the email.

  • Tern will walk you through joining the agency.

  • Optional: if the agency is paying for your subscription you can cancel your personal subscription so you're not double paying. You can cancel your subscription in your user settings, learn more here: Updating your Tern Plan

If you want to create a new agency

  • Go to your user settings (click on your avatar in the top right)

  • Click Set Up Agency

  • Enter the details about your agency

  • Decide if you want to purchase seats for your agency now or later

  • If you want to move yourself to a paid agency seat you can assign yourself a paid seat. You should then cancel your personal subscription.

FAQ

How long do I have before my account is permanently deleted?

After requesting deletion, there is a 20-day grace period before your account is permanently removed. During this time you can still log in and use Tern normally. There is no self-serve option to cancel the deletion — contact Tern Support if you change your mind.

I deleted my traveler account but now I want to join an agency as an advisor. What do I do?

If your account was originally created as a traveler (client), agencies won't be able to invite your email to join as an advisor — even after deletion. Contact Tern Support with the email address and we can update your account type so you can accept the invitation.
