Question:

I see that manually entering the credit cards is not an option. We have very busy professionals that do not always have the time to complete a payment form. Sometimes I collect this information over a phone call or text. What is your recommendation, for a process like this?

Answer:

We currently only support a more robust credit card authorization process.

We built it this way to help protect from chargebacks, as we found that a lot of advisors were unintentionally putting themselves at risk when using client credit card information without a paper trail. Our CEO, David, wrote a great blog post with more info here on why we built it this way.

That being said - we do understand that there are advisors who are aware of the specific legal risks, and who may choose to make exceptions for specific clients. We plan to support storing credit card details in a PCI compliant way outside of this process in Fall 2024. In the meantime, we'd recommend continuing to use whatever older process you have for storing credit card details.
