You can now attach files directly in Tern AI Chat. Upload a supplier quote, a PDF, or an image, and the AI uses it alongside your prompt to build and edit trips.
What it does
File upload lets you give AI Chat real source material to work from. Instead of retyping details, you attach the document and ask the AI to act on it. It reads the file and uses its contents to create trips, add travelers, apply templates, and fill in details such as cabin options.
How it works
You attach one or more files to a message using the file upload option in the chat, then send your prompt as usual. The AI reads the attached files and combines them with your instructions to complete the task. You can keep chatting after the upload to refine the itinerary or edit any details.
How to upload a file
Steps
Open AI Chat and find the file upload option in the message box.
Select the file you want to attach. For example, a supplier quote for a cruise.
Type your prompt describing what you want the AI to do. For example: "Create a new trip, add travelers, apply the cruise template, and add the cabin proposed."
Send the message. The AI reads the attached file and uses it along with your prompt.
Review and accept the AI's actions. The AI searches ships and cabins, matches the template and traveler, and proposes the cabin from your quote. Confirm the details are correct as it works.
Continue editing in chat. You can ask the AI to add port images, update the itinerary, or open and preview the full trip.
You'll know it worked when
The AI creates the trip and adds the details from your file, such as the correct cabin option, and you can open and preview the full itinerary.
Supported file types
You can attach the following file types:
JPEG
PNG
GIF
WebP
PDF
Plain text (.txt)
CSV
If a file is not one of these types, it will not upload.
Size and attachment limits
These limits apply to every advisor:
5 MB per file. Each individual file must be 5 MB or smaller. This applies to images, PDFs, and text files.
10 attachments per message. You can attach up to 10 files to a single message.
20 MB per chat, total. The combined size of all files across the whole chat cannot exceed 20 MB.
20 attachments per chat, total. You can attach up to 20 files across the whole chat.
The per-chat limits add up across every message in the conversation, not just one message.
Common issues
A file won't attach Check that the file is a supported type and is 5 MB or smaller.
You can't add more files to a chat You may have reached the 20 MB total or the 20 attachment total for that chat. Start a new chat to upload more files.
