Adding a cabin to your cruise itinerary

How to use Tern's integrated cabin library to add cabin details to your cruise itinerary.

Written by David Shull

1. Open an itinerary with a cruise

If you don't already have an itinerary with a cruise on it checkout this article first!

2. Click on Itinerary

3. Drag a lodging item to the first day of the cruise

It's important that the cruise already be on the itinerary. Tern will automatically detect that a cruise starts that day.

4. Click on the Rooms tab.

When the lodging view opens up click on "Rooms"

5. Click on Search Cabins

Beneath Room Selections, on the right, click on the Search Cabins button. This is where you can browse the cabin options for the cruise.

6. Make a cabin selection

7. Notice Tern populates the description of the room and the activity title

The red notification by media means that Tern is automatically applying media to the activity. Note that you may still want to add your commentary to the activity under the general information tab.

Where to enter the price

Enter the cabin price on the cabin, not on the cruise.

  1. Open the cabin you just added and go to Booking & Pricing.

  2. Choose Per Room and enter the price for each room type.

  3. Leave the cruise block at $0. The cabin sits inside the cruise, so its price is all Tern needs to build the payment schedule.

Note: If you enter a price on both the cruise block and the cabin block, your Expected Payments section shows two payment entries with the same deposit and balance, one for the cruise and one for the cabin. Your itinerary still shows a single cruise card because the cabin is nested inside the cruise. Price only one block to keep one clean payment schedule.

Already seeing two entries? See How to remove the $0 Cruise price in Tern.
