Find bookings with expected commission that hasn't been received yet to follow up with suppliers and ensure you're paid for all bookings. Export the list and break it down by supplier to send targeted follow-up requests.
Prerequisites
You have bookings with expected commission dates set.
You have admin access to your agency.
Steps
Navigate to the Commission page from the main navigation.
Click the Bookings tab.
Use the Status filter to find missing commission:
Select Overdue to see bookings where the expected commission date has passed and no commission has been received.
Select Upcoming to see bookings with expected commission dates in the future.
Select Partial to see bookings where you are still expecting additional payments.
(Optional) Use additional filters to narrow the list:
Filter by supplier to focus on specific suppliers.
Filter by agent to see which advisors have missing commission.
Filter by expected commission date range.
Filter by booking date or client name.
Review the list showing booking details, expected commission amount, expected commission date, and status.
Click Export to download a CSV file with all filtered bookings.
Reaching out to suppliers
While Tern doesn't have a direct way to invoice suppliers for commission, exporting and organizing the list by supplier gives you the information you need to send follow-up requests and track which bookings need attention.
From here, many agencies group these exported bookings by supplier, and reach out with a single consolidated list including details like confirmation numbers, traveler names, and expected commission amounts.
Once payments are confirmed or received, create a new statement and follow the reconciliation process to record the commission so those bookings move to a Received status.
Commission not showing in the expected month?
Check which date type your report is filtering by. Reports can filter by:
Expected date: when you anticipate receiving the commission
Received date: when the payment was actually logged
If a partial payment came in on a different date than the full commission was expected, it will only appear in reports filtered by the actual received date. Switch to the Your Received Commission report and filter by received date to find it.
To find it:
1. Go to Reporting and open the Your Received Commission report.
2. Click the date filter and select Fixed (not Rolling).
3. Set the start and end dates to cover the month the payment was received (e.g., Dec 1–Dec 31, 2025).

A: There is no direct filter in Tern for "planning status + has payments." However, the Commission → Bookings view can help narrow this down:
Go to Commission → Bookings
Apply the "Partial" commission status filter — this shows bookings with at least one payment logged but still expecting more
Also check "Received" — bookings with commission fully received
Look through results for any bookings still showing Planning status — these need to be marked as Booked
Open each and click Mark as Booked on the Booking & Pricing tab
Why this works: The commission status filters (Partial, Received) surface bookings with payments recorded, regardless of whether the booking has been formally marked as Booked. Any planning-status bookings with logged payments will appear in these filters.
