How it works
Every flight activity has two things: a title you can type in, and an itinerary header that shows on the client-facing itinerary and on the activity card.
When a flight is set to Separate display, Tern generates the itinerary header automatically from the flight legs, in the format "Flight from [origin] to destination" (for example, "Flight from CUN to DFW (AA1601)"). This generated header is what appears on the itinerary, even if you typed a shorter custom title like "CUN-DFW (AA1601)" in the title field.
This is expected behavior. Split-flight itinerary headers are built from the flight data so they stay accurate to the actual legs.
Getting a custom label to stick
The generated header is rebuilt whenever the flight's info changes, including when you switch Itinerary Display from Single item back to Separate. That is why a custom label can look like it "reverts" to the generated name after you toggle display modes.
To keep a custom label:
ADD each flight leg as a Separate activity. You can use the Smart Flight feature by adding the flight information in the Flights section.
Enter your custom title in the title field.
You'll know it worked when
Your custom label shows on both your itinerary view and the published client itinerary, and stays in place as long as you don't toggle the display mode.
Common issues
My custom flight title reverted to "Flight from [A] to [B]"
This happens when you've added more than one flight leg on a Flight Activity. Add flight legs as separate activities on the itinerary.
