Overview
Optional add-ons allow you to designate lodging, flights, activities, or transportation as optional items your clients can choose to enhance their trips. This feature empowers you to:
Offer flexibility: Provide optional activities for clients to enhance their trips.
Streamline visibility: Hide unselected activities from the itinerary and pricing.
Ensure seamless payments: Prompt clients to authorize payments for selected activities immediately after their choices.
For example, you might offer clients the option to include a wine-tasting tour, spa package, or upgraded accommodations. These optional features give travelers greater control over their experience while keeping the planning process simple for you.
How to set up optional add-ons
Optional add-ons are supported for all trip types:

Regular Trips & Sub-Trips: Full-access travelers can select add-ons, which will automatically reflect in their itineraries.

Steps to Set Up Optional Add-Ons:
Navigate to the activity item in the itinerary of a regular trip, group trip, or sub-trip.
Go to the "Booking and Pricing" tab.
Click the "Make Optional" button. Any pre-filled activity details will carry over, but traveler assignments will reset upon conversion.
Important Notes:
Activities marked as booked or canceled cannot be made optional.
Once optional, the activity will display as Optional on the advisor's itinerary and within the pricing tab.
Optional add-ons will remain excluded from the trip’s total cost and not ready for authorization until clients choose them.
How your clients can select optional add-ons
Clients can view and select optional add-ons directly from their itinerary. Here's how the process works:
1. Select Option Blocks and Room Options:
If there are option blocks or room options, these will appear first.
Once other selections are finalized, the "Optional Add-Ons" section will become visible.
2. Select Optional Add-Ons:
Clients can add an optional activity by clicking "Add to Trip."
By default, all travelers will be included in the activity. Clients can adjust traveler assignments if needed.
3. Authorize Payments:
If the activity is ready for authorization, clients will be redirected to the payment page after making their selections.
Their selections will reflect in the updated trip total.
4. No Option Blocks or Room Option Selections?
If no other choices are required, optional add-ons will be available on the itinerary immediately. Clients can add them, ask a question, or dismiss them.
Dismissing Optional Add-Ons
Clients can dismiss an optional add-on by clicking the ‘X’ on the itinerary.
They will see a confirmation message reminding them that dismissed options can only be reinstated by their advisor.
Reviewing selections
Receive an immediate email notification: This ensures you’re updated in real time.
See the activity updated in the itinerary: It will no longer display as optional.
Find details in the "Booking and Pricing" tab: Review client selections and adjust if needed.
Check the activity log: Optional add-on selections are recorded here for easy tracking.
If clients need to change their selections, you can reset them at any time. However, resetting will clear any traveler assignments or payment authorizations linked to the activity.
Selecting optional add-ons on behalf of your clients
You can also make selections for your clients directly from the "Booking and Pricing" tab:
Select Add for Client
Select the number of travelers and submit the update.
Once finalized, clients will no longer see the activity as optional; it will appear as a standard itinerary item.
Instead of seeing the optional add-on, your clients would see the activity normally if you have made selections for them.
