You can delete a trip from the trip's three-dot menu. Deleted trips move to Trash, where they stay for 7 days before they are permanently removed.
Note: The trash window is 7 days. After that, deleted trips are gone permanently and cannot be recovered by Tern support. There is no 30-day window.
How to delete a trip
Open the trip you want to delete, or find it on your Trips dashboard.
Click the three-dot menu (located next to the Preview button when inside a trip, or on the trip card on the dashboard).
Select "Delete."
Confirm the deletion when prompted.
The trip will move to your Trash immediately.
Recovering a deleted trip
If you accidentally delete a trip, you can recover it from Trash within 7 days.
Navigate to Trash from the Trips dashboard.
Find the trip you want to restore.
Click "Restore" to move the trip back to your Trips dashboard.
After 7 days, items in Trash are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Severity: High — Deleting trips and recovering from accidental deletion is a common workflow. The transcript shows a user (Michael) asking about cleanup, which is a routine need. There is zero Help Center coverage.
FAQ
I cancelled an activity but can't delete it from my itinerary — it says it has transactions associated with it. How do I remove it?
If a cancelled activity has documents attached, you won't be able to delete it until the documents are removed. Open the activity, go to the Documents section, and delete any attached documents. After that, you should be able to delete the activity from the itinerary. The booking history will still be preserved in your records.
