Hotels by Tern: Client Data and Privacy

Tern doesn't sell your data or your clients' data. Tern's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, updated October 22, 2026, state this.

Who Owns My Client's Data?

You keep ownership of the content you put into Tern. For client records, itineraries, and other information you keep in Tern for your business, you or your agency decide how it's used, and Tern processes it on your behalf. Tern doesn't sell or share that data.

When your client books a hotel Tern sells, Tern is a controller of the booking information, including details you give Tern to make the booking. Tern uses it to make, pay for, confirm, change, cancel, and service the booking, and to report on it to your agency.

Will Tern Contact My Clients?

Tern sends your client messages about their reservation, including the booking confirmation, changes, cancellations, and refunds. Tern also sends the booking confirmation to your agency. Tern doesn't contact your client without letting you or your agency know, and doesn't use booking information to send its own marketing to travelers.
