Advisor Features
AI
Inbox Intelligence: Tern now automatically detects travel-related emails from your contacts and links them to the right trip. When a confirmation email arrives — hotel, flight, transfer, or activity — Tern reads it and surfaces a suggestion card with the parsed booking details, ready to apply to the trip with one click. You no longer have to do manual email sorting, or copying and pasting booking info.
Notes & CRM chat: You now have the ability to ask questions about your notes and CRM data. There are two modes: ask about a single note, or search across your entire history with a client. Ask it what came up on last month's discovery call, what a client's travel preferences are, or what follow-ups you still owe them. It pulls from every note you've written and surfaces what's relevant.
You also now have a notes drawer accessible from anywhere in Tern with search, infinite scroll, and multi-note AI chat, so you're never hunting through individual contact records to find what you need.

Agency Features
Commission
Host Agency reconciliation: If you are an agency owner, and your agency team is part of a host agency, your commission reconciliation process has a new end-to-end flow. This feature is currently in a closed beta, but you can check out our detailed Help Center article now to learn about the steps for reconciling commissions for sub-agencies. Read the Help Center article here →
Approve for payout: When reconciling a statement in Tern, once a statement is fully reconciled, a modal will appear prompting you to approve for payout. Until you approve, reconciled items won't appear in the Ready to Pay tab. This gives you a clean separation between reconciling a statement (accounting for every line item) and releasing funds (approving agent payouts). If the money hasn't landed in your bank account yet, you can reconcile ahead of time without triggering payouts prematurely. Read the Help Center article here→
Commission locking on trips and contacts: Agency owners and admins can now lock commission rates at the trip or contact level. Once locked, agents cannot modify the split. Read the Help Center article here →
Unclaimed booking matching and linking: When reconciling commission statements, you may encounter line items from a supplier that don't match any existing bookings in Tern. The Unclaimed Bookings feature allows you to log these unmatched line items and automatically receive suggested matches when agents later submit corresponding bookings. These bookings appear in the Unclaimed Bookings tab. Read the Help Center article here →
Structured statements: Supplier statements now pre-populate the supplier field for adjustments and unclaimed bookings. This works for supplier, multi-supplier, and host agency statement types.
Reporting
Client location report: In the Reporting tab you will now see a new report for a real-time map of the location of every traveler working with your agency. You'll see names, trips, and current locations. The report is filterable by advisor. You can find this report under Reports, titled "Where are my clients?"
Commission payout report: In the Reporting tab you will now see a new report called "Advisor Payouts". This report allows you to see all commission payouts by agent.
Agency-managed trips and contacts
Trips and contacts have a new setting, giving them the ability to be "Agency Managed". When this setting is enabled, the agent who owns the contact or trip cannot remove your agency's access from that contact/trip. As an agency owner or admin, you always have the ability to toggle it "off" for any reason. Learn more →
Collaborator role
The Collaborator role is designed for agency team members who need access to trip and contact information without full administrative privileges or commission access.
In Beta
AI Notetaker
Tern's new AI Notetaker joins your client calls and captures a full transcript, summary, and action items, all saved directly to the contact or trip in Tern. This is free during beta, and pricing and plan details will be announced in Q2 2026. Check out the AI Notetaker Help Center article →
AI Commission Reconciliation (including email parsing)
When a commission statement arrives in your inbox, Tern will parse the content, and surface suggested commission matches for review and approval. You no longer need to work on just one statement at a time.
